The Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary was first published by Merriam-Webster in 1898 and is now in its 11th edition. It has in the past been the official word reference for words too long to be found in shorter word references, and has since the publication of the Long List (now subsumed into the Official Tournament and Club Word List, OTCWL) been one of the source lexicons for OTCWL.
