The National SCRABBLE Association (NSA) was the predecessor of the NASPA as the governing organization for club and tournament Scrabble play in Canada and the United States, and as the organizer of national championships.

The NSA operated until 2013-06-30 under a mandate from Hasbro, Inc. to promote the Scrabble game in North America, concentrating on the School SCRABBLE Program and casual SCRABBLE clubs.
