Since April 2012, NASPA has offered a Life Membership program for our members who wish to show their lifetime support of competitive SCRABBLE play.
Life membership costs US$20 per year or part thereof up to age 80, with a minimum of $20. For example, if you are 50 years old, you have 30 years left before you turn 80, so your life membership will cost $600. If you are 90 years old, your life membership costs just $20.
Life members may apply to change the first two digits of their NASPA ID from the usual AA (or CM for committee members) to LM (for Life Member). We will be offering other benefits to life members, and welcome suggestions from life members.
You can currently sign up as a new life member through our regular membership tool. Current members who wish to become life members will be able to do so soon using the renewal tool but are welcome to pay the appropriate amount through account services and we will be happy to process your membership within 24 hours.
Because of the age-based pricing plan, we require proof of your date of birth. When you select life membership, you will be reminded that you will need to send us a photo or copy of a driver's license or birth certificate to verify your date of birth.
If you were a paid member in good standing as of April 1, 2012, and were already 80 years of age or older, we will be extend your membership to a life membership when we receive your proof of age.
