This page describes how to install NASPA Zyzzyva on Linux for NASPA members.

Installing NASPA Zyzzyva 3.4.1

The current release 3.4.0 is available only for 64-bit operating systems. It supports the following common Linux distributions (and later): Linux Mint 19, Ubuntu 17, openSUSE 15, Debian “buster”.

  • Download the installer.
  • Run the installer - you must accept the terms of use. If you see a message about a missing library, you may need to install it using your package manager. For example, on Ubuntu, you may need to run this command: sudo apt-get install libxcb-xinerama0
  • Review the notes that appear at the end of the installation process.
  • Open the app from where it was installed.
  • Choose Edit > Preferences > Load Lexicons > Edit... and check NWL2023 and any other lexicons that you want to use.
  • Rebuild databases when prompted. This step may take several minutes if you have many lexicons installed. When it completes, you’re done!
    • If not prompted, you can choose Tools > Rebuild Database... to start the process.
