I have been a member of NASPA-WESPA Liaison Committee since its inception in June 2009. However, as of October 9, 2009, I have decided to resign from this responsibility.
International diplomacy is a challenging field. It takes certain skill to navigate the delicate relationships between organizations and individuals. I have not been able to contribute much. In fact, I don’t even understand what is going on. Frankly, I doubt if I have any of the prerequisite information to even begin to comprehend the issues at stake.
There are a number if distinguished NASPA members, including Chris Cree, John Chew III, Sam Kantimathi and Robin Pollock Daniel, who are all very qualified to act as ambassadors for a shared ideal of ours: being able to play the game that we love with anyone, anywhere, regardless of one’s genetic lineage, ideological idiosyncrasies, sensual preferences or the jurisdiction of one’s place of birth.
I continue to support their efforts and help wherever I can, but I’m simply not qualified to be a member of a “working committee” that might or might not have some unspecified responsibilities or privileges in association with this topic.
