The 2017 North American SCRABBLE Championship prize table describes in detail what cash and merchandise prizes that will be awarded in each division.

Daily Prize Notes

Daily prizes will be delivered by Division Leaders on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the previous days' winners, and will be distributed at the awards ceremony for Wednesday winners. NASPA reserves the right to substitute NASPA store credit for prize winners not present at the awards ceremony.

Class Prize Notes

• Eligibility for Class Prizes is as follows:
  • Initial rating in the second tertile (third) of the division eligible for Class B Prizes
  • Initial rating in the third tertile of the division eligible for Class C Prizes

For the purpose of determining initial ratings for class prize eligibility, players with international ratings but no NASPA ratings will be assigned to classes at the director's discretion, based on their most recently available rating.

Collins Prizes

NASPA gratefully acknowledges the support of two groups of donors to fund additional Collins division prizes.

Stefan Rau, Terry Kang Rau, Puneet Sharma, Tony Leah and others contributed $2,500 to the CSW1 prize pool. It is included in the amounts shown above, and was distributed among the top six places: $1750, $250, $200, $150, $100, $50.

A large group of players headed by Norman contributed $2000 in door prizes that will be divided equally among the 13 players who paid and registered to play before June 1: Cherish Amby-Okolo, Bharath Balakrishnan, Lynda Woods Cleary, Constance J Creech, Cecilia Huber, Liz Jackman, Dallas Johnson, Samuel Kennedy, Cheryl Melvin, Keith Nishimi, Caroline Polak Scowcroft, Kaveri Raviraj, Heidi Robertson.

They also contributed $1800 in prizes that will be paid out $720/$540/$360/$180 to those among the same CSW2 players (plus late registrant Bharath Balakrishnan) with the highest total spread.

Multiple Winners

Winning multiple prizes may in some cases not be permitted. For example, a class prize winner may not also win a place prize. A winner of a TWL session prize (high/low win/loss) may not win another one. A winner of a specific CSW session prize may not win any other of that type.
